Senior Awards Night
The UK College of Medicine Class of 2018 Senior Awards Ceremony was held on Friday, May 11, 2018, at the Grand Reserve Distillery Square. It was a special event for graduating medical students, their families and friends, as well as College of Medicine faculty and staff. Multiple awards were given in the following categories: Teaching Awards, Humanism Awards, Student Awards and Departmental Awards, Honor Chords and Graduation Awards.
The UK College of Medicine Class of 2018 Commencement was held on Saturday, May 12, 2018 in the Concert Hall of the University of Kentucky Singletary Center for the Arts. This year’s ceremony marked the 55th Graduation Processional for the College. Robert S. DiPaola, M.D., Dean of the UK College of Medicine delivered the commencement address and helped us celebrate our student’s success.
The graduating class consisted of with 127 students who, following the completion of intense studies and clinical rotations, assumed the title of “doctor.” During the National Residency Match Week, the Class of 2018 matched into 22 different specialties. Forty-three percent of the class will complete residency training in Primary Care as defined by Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine-Pediatrics and Family Medicine. Twenty-seven percent elected to stay at the UK HealthCare for residency training with another three percent staying at other Kentucky residency programs

On March 16, fourth-year medical students gathered with family and friends in the Woodford Reserve Room at Kroger Field for a special Match Day ceremony. UK HealthCare Marketing spoke with students, faculty, and staff to find out what made the day so special.
